Bridgestone tires have recently revealed its second generation air-free concept tyres at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show held in Japan recently.

The revolutionary new design features improved load-bearing capabilities, environmental design and driving performance.  The latest innovation will now bring the company closer to a viable, commercially available air-free tyre.

The concept works due to a unique structure of spokes that stretch along the inner sides of the tyre supporting the weight of the vehicle. This means that there is no absolutely no need to refill the tyres with air, meaning they require less maintenance. This also gets rid of the possibility of the tyres being punctured while driving.
