CILT ANNUAL DINNER & 2014 IRISH LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT AWARDS

Colm O’ Regan hosted the CILT Annual Dinner & fifth Irish Logistics & Transport Awards 2014 on Thursday 20th of March last which saw the crème de la crème of the logistics and transport industry come together in the DoubleTree by Hilton Dublin on the Burlington Road.
The Annual Dinner & Awards attracted over 450 representatives from across Ireland, who came together to celebrate the best the industry has to offer. With 18 categories up for grabs, and over 100 entries in the awards, there was plenty to celebrate on the night. The prestigious trophies were handed over to winners while the beaten finalists were compensated with a certificate of recognition.
On behalf of CILT, a hearty congratulations to all our winners, and commiserations to those who were not successful this time around. Thanks for your support of the Irish Logistic and Transport Awards 2014 and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.
The Overall Logistics and Transport Excellence Award which was sponsored by Topaz, was awarded to DHL Global Forwarding. The judges said that DHL ‘has had a great year, with several major new contracts won. The way the industrial projects team managed the shipment of wind turbines from Denmark was one of the year’s highlights’.
Julie O’ Neill received the Logistics and Transport Leader Award, which Topaz also sponsored. In her acceptance speech, Julie spoke about the importance of sustainability, future proofing against risk and finding out ‘what’s unique or special about your business’ and sticking to it.
CILT President, Finbarr Cleary FCILT, spoke about The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s continued commitment to the achievement of excellence in transport, logistics and supply management. The party continued well into the night and lots of money was raised on behalf of St. Vincent de Paul, the Jack and Jill Foundation and Haven in the Charity Casino.
On behalf of CILT Ireland we would like to thank our sponsors, (Irish Independent, Topaz, Zetes, Fleetmatics, DAF, Hyster, Mitsubishi Fuso Ireland, the Health & Safety Authority, Custom Matters, Finol Oils and Shell), and congratulations all our winners, and commiserations to those who were not successful this time around. We look forward to welcoming you at the CILT Annual Dinner and ILTA’s in 2015.
