Emirates to increase flights from Dublin to Dubai

The airline company Emirates has announced their intentions to add a second daily flight from Dublin to Dubai from September of this year. The new daily service will increase capacity of more than 5,000 seats per week in both directions on the route, and will allow more effective onward connections from Dubai to destinations in Australia and New Zealand.
The airline president Tim Clarke has said “Air travel is indispensable for tourism and trade, the major engines of Ireland’s resurgent economy. There is a clear traffic flow taking place from Dublin to a number of destinations in our network, therefore boosting connections makes business sense.”
The announcement has also been welcomed by the Taoiseach Enda Kenny who said that the new service would contribute in building on the connections made by the Irish Governmnet during a recent trade mission to the Gulf region.
