This morning it was announced by Irish Rail in a statement to expect distruptions to all Heuston Station train services affected by a “train failure”.

Irish Rail have confirmed there are significant delays to train services departing from Heuston Station due to mechanical faults on a train at Newbridge.

The mechanical issue is currently under maintenance, however, passengers are warned to expect delays of up to an hour or more.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail said:

“Significant delays remain to services departing from Heuston due a mechanical issue on a train at Newbridge.

“Crews are on site and working to resolve and minimise impact.”
